What We Believe
We adhere to the Baptist Faith & Message 2000. The Holy Bible was written by men divinely inspired and is God's revelation of Himself to man — a perfect treasure of divine instruction, totally true and trustworthy.
As a Baptist congregation, we uphold the historic Baptist confessions and celebrate the priesthood of all believers — every person having direct access to God through Christ alone.

Get Connected
Church is more than an hour on Sunday. We have ministries for every age and stage of life — places to grow, serve, and truly belong.
A safe, joyful environment for children birth through 5th grade to learn about Jesus through age-appropriate worship, Bible lessons, and friendship.
A community for middle and high school students to dig into their faith, build lasting friendships, and grow into who God created them to be.
Every Wednesday evening at 6:30 PM, we gather for Bible study and prayer, growing together in the knowledge and love of God.
Our choir, musicians, and worship team lead the congregation in Spirit-filled praise every Sunday. New members are always welcome.
We believe in the power of prayer. Our intercessory prayer team meets weekly and is committed to lifting up the needs of our congregation and community.
Serving our neighbors in love is at the heart of who we are. From food pantry support to community events, we seek to be the hands and feet of Jesus.

Serving Since
1957
Our Story
Starr Baptist Church was founded in 1957 by a small gathering of faithful families committed to planting a Bible-believing church in their community. Over six decades, the church has grown from a handful of members meeting in a storefront to a vibrant congregation rooted in the Word of God. Through the years, Starr Baptist has served generations of families, planted new ministries, and remained a steady presence of faith, hope, and love in the neighborhood.
“To touch and transform lives through worship, outreach, ministry, discipleship and fellowship.”
Everything we believe and do is anchored in the Bible as God's authoritative Word.
We believe Christian life is meant to be lived in authentic relationship with others.
We are committed to sharing the good news of Jesus with our neighbors near and far.
Love for God overflows into love for our community — in practical, tangible ways.

— Mike Davis, Pastor
Generosity
Every gift to Starr Baptist Church supports our ministries, community outreach, and the ongoing work of sharing the gospel in Starr and beyond. We give out of gratitude for what God has already given us.
We believe in generous, joyful, Spirit-led giving — never under compulsion. Your financial support is deeply appreciated and is used responsibly for God's kingdom.

We Care About You
You don't have to carry it alone. Whether you're walking through a hard season, have a question about faith, or simply need someone to talk to — our pastoral team is here for you.
We believe prayer is one of the most important things we can do together as a church. Our intercessory prayer team meets weekly and regularly lifts up our congregation and community before God.
